I had that very problem myself, I was tired of having to pay for this service, when all it took was a little coding. Anyway, hope you find some gold nuggets :-) I found a PR7 with a great keyword for $50 .. I was quite happy about that :)

Re: Tool Time Friday | The old “What to Call My Domain Game”?

I know the feeling of trying to come up with new names for domains, and some of the results I found were ... well, as you say yourself, stupid (I would have used the word lame, but then again, I wont tell you some of the names I had written down).

One thing snagged me though, what about old domain names that were getting deleted and were up for sale? I am a Go Daddy user, and their tdnam service was something for me. I found quite a few good domains, but I was tired of all the searching for info (PR, backlinks, etc) to see if they were good bargains, so I went ahead and created a little site of my own :-)

http://bargainhunter.linkla...

Above site tracks the domains in their system, and gets all the data that you will ever need.

The system is still in alpha, but it is highly usable. What do you think?

Re: Tool Time Friday | The old “What to Call My Domain Game”?

I found cultofthe.com to be more usefull which might be explained by the fact I wrote most of the code...

Re: Tool Time Friday | The old “What to Call My Domain Game”?

nice and interesting blog. Especially the link popularity report it provides! I'm guessing it would take allot of fishing but I'd imagine you could find some gold nuggets in there.

A few months back I paid a membership fee for a tool just like this. Not this exact one, but it did the same thing. The only problem was that one was showing domains that expired 3 months ago. I was pi****!!! They did issue a refund though.

Anyway, thanks :)
