    You are right, it's the way we develop the relationship with other social marketers. Just as respect has to earn it, it takes time before the "loyal 100s could give us free 10,000 traffic".

    We get the chick by hatching the egg, not by smashing it, right?

    So to understand how to use that information, answer this question for yourself: in a situation where popularity is driven by approval, who is the most powerful person?

    Answer: the one in a position to give approvals. Maybe we should all create our own social networks, huh?

    Its not just respect... its trust. You need to get people to trust you as a reliable resource. When you get that trust- this is when social media traffic will convert for you.
