I think it isn't easy to promote one's blog these days due to "nofollow" being used on most sites. I just started up a blog 12 days ago and am writing about health issues which interest me a great deal. I have a belief that one will not see substantial traffic for several months. The only true way to get a lot of blog traffic is to write quality content. If you are writing because you want the ad revenue, you are doomed to fail, but if you write first and foremost because you love to write and produce quality content at the same time, eventually you will get lots of visitors and revenue. Those are just my thoughts. :-)

I have a two year plan with my movie and TV blog. I know you don't hit a home run over night. All you can do is be persistant, write good content and stay at it.

Getting a 100 visitors from pinging seems a bit far off, unless I'm just plain unlucky because I've made about 9 articles (started 3 days ago) and pinged after every group of posts and I'm up to maybe 20 unique traffic.

Kind of a downer.
