Free Traffic Tips: Give Jing a Jangle - Hosted Screencasting in Flash (for Mac Users too)

  • Sherman Hu · 2 years ago
Hey Tinu, couldn't sleep so thought I'd follow what you've been blogging via Facebook. ;-)

I've switched from PC to Mac early 2007 and loving it! Came across several switching inconveniences too, one of them is screencast software (as I was also a Camtasia fan).

After testing about 4 of the third party Mac apps for screencasting, I chose iShowU (by Shiny White Box) - works fabulously for me and I created more than 70 videos for StomperNet with it.

Also have Jing and works great too. Too bad I don't have options to download video in more formats than just swf. Oh well...

Techsmith (creator of Camtasia and Jing) claims to be in development of a Mac version of Camtasia. (fingers crossing)

Goodnight/Good morning Tinu - catch ya on Facebook ;-)

:) Well thanks Sherman. I appreciate that so much.

I'll definitely try iShowU, thanks for the tip. And yes, Jing has many limitations, but it's cool for short things. I'd also love to be able to make better resizeable windows, or at least make them fit in the window better.

I saw that announcement for a Mac version of Camtasia. That would be a dream come true. Maybe we should have a Facebook group to show them our numbers?

    Heya Tinu,

Clicked thru from FB - :-)

I'm also a hard core Mac user since I-don't-know-how-long, I think at the time Elvis was still alive! - ;-)

Anyways - about the screencast apps - like Sherman, I use iShowU pretty extensively, but ... a new app has been spotted and it's BAAAAD!

Go check it out -- http://www.varasoftware.com/products/screenflow/

    Take care!
