Wow! modt concise traffic tips ever seen Thx.
  • Tinu Abayomi-Paul · 2 years ago
I thank you Kingsley. Though I wouldn't call them concise. :) I'm quite drunk with verbosity most days, one of my many lovely flaws.

I have profiles on several social networking sites, and the one that gives me the most traffic is Squidoo. Next in line would be ActiveRain and then its a toss up among a few others. Great list. I've bookmarked it.
  • Tinu Abayomi-Paul · 2 years ago
Thanks. Of course these aren't social networking sites... ? So that gave me a bit of confusion.

    Great List*

I find MyBlogLog + BlgCatalog + SpicyPage + other Blogger Communities have been thee Best Source for Blog Traffic*

    ;))
  • Tinu Abayomi-Paul · 2 years ago
    Hello Billy,

    Thanks for joining us.

The best source for blog traffic for each person is going to depend on how they set up their blog and what they put into it, as well as topic matter and a host of other things. It's different for everyone. And the less time you have to participate in communties, the less traffic you'll get from them.

Then you also have to think about what the point of the traffic is that you're generating. Personally, I've gotten more traffic to this blog from StumbleUpon than all the blog communities I belong to combined. My top sources of traffic (to the blog) are links, articles, the search engines, social traffic and advertising. Blog communities are a distant third.

However, at some of my other blogs, the BumpZee community is the number one source of visitors.

This list, however, doesn't have as much to do with blog traffic as it does to do with ALL traffic, for every type of site. There's something on this list for everyone. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

Wow, this is absolutely AMAZING - I can't believe the amount of articles you've written up. I mean, I know some of them were written as far back as 2004, but I still think it's quite impressive.

I'm not sure where to start. Erm, ok, I think I'll start with the 'traffic from article marketing' section as I have this ebook I'm writing and I think learning how I can use article writing to promote it would be pretty useful.

    take care ...and thanks :-)

(had a slight problem posting this up previously - hope it works this time round :-) )

    slyvie,

    thank you.

    Foxbob,

Not everyone makes tons of money but persistent people who focus on getting decent traffic will often make a few hundred each month.

    tercume,

Why would that be confusing? The title has absolutely nothing to do with that.

    Babs/Barbara,

Thank you. This is just the best 69 of 2000+ just at this site though. I expect I've written tens of thousands by now. :) Welcome.

Excellent suggestions. Might I add that a short burst of paid traffic can create residual traffic well into the future. I recently purchased a URL that had absolutely no past traffic. I dropped $20USD for paid traffic over a couple of days. Right after that my daily traffic jumped from 0 before the $20USD to, on an average 40 hits per day and growing.

As agreed by everyone, this is a great list of useful information on getting traffic and free traffic at that. I particularly agree with the comment you made back to another commenter Tinu Abayomi-Paul, that stated to "Be sure to tackle them a few at a time and then add more, instead of attempting to launch them all at once". So many will read through some of these resources and almost over night be an expert at getting free traffic but never be able to get one visitor to their site. Why? Because they fail to create a system that they can use everyday over and over that is proven to get them traffic. So, my advice for readers here is to make sure you create a system for the traffic generation methods that work best for your site, time, or budget and stick with it consistently before adding more to it. And then test, track, and test and track some more!
